Imagine seeing kākā in the Octagon, or South Island robins in your backyard. This is our predator free vision. Dunedin’s inner city is uniquely suited to a large native bird population. With an urban/semi-rural mix, plus 200 hectares of green belt, there’s plenty of reason for optimism.
With large scale predator control projects well underway on the Peninsula and to the north of Dunedin, the city project is the crucial missing link.
The DCC already trap in some reserves, but we’re going to need your help. To reach our goal, we need 1 in 10 households to be involved, and for local people to become guardians of their local reserves.
